Employer-supported volunteering (ESV)
Make an ordinary work day into something extraordinary with Waythrough.
What is employer supported volunteering?
Employer supported volunteering (ESV) – sometimes called corporate volunteering – is when an employer supports its workforce to get stuck into volunteering opportunities, usually during their working hours.
At Waythrough, we believe that volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to connect people, build skills, and create lasting social impact. Through ESV, your organisation can give employees the opportunity to make a difference during the working day.
Whether it’s a few hours or a full day, volunteering with Waythrough helps your team contribute to something bigger, while supporting their own wellbeing and development. ESV has been shown to boost employee engagement and enhance team cohesion, all whilst demonstrating your commitment to your local community.

What can Waythrough offer employers and their staff who volunteer?
We offer a wide range of flexible, meaningful volunteering options for individuals and teams, including:
- Practical volunteering: help out at one of our services or community events.
- Skills-based volunteering: share your professional expertise to support our work.
- Remote opportunities: get involved from anywhere, on your schedule.

“I wanted to give something back to the site which has given me my brother back. We were welcomed with open arms and made to feel so special on the day. All the residents were so friendly and helped in a way we never imagined. This is the fourth ESV day we have done over the years, and all my staff are asking to go back again as this is such a great cause.”
