We’re here to help
We specialise in providing support for people living with or recovering from mental ill health to find paid employment, voluntary work, education and training, or to retain their current employment. We work with people living in Bristol, North Somerset and Gloucestershire.
We can help with the following:
Job Search
- Search only for the sort of work you want
- Support and guidance on how and where to look
- Help writing effective CVs, cover letters and applications
- Your employment specialist actively contacts and develops relationships with employers
- Employment related benefits advice – check how employment may affect your benefits
On Application
- Help to get you through interviews
- Confidential advice on how to disclose health matters – when and how best to do it
- Help you identify and request reasonable adjustments from your employer
After Employment
- Support when starting a job
- Regular contact after job start to help you sort out any problems, for as long as you need it
- Support with your new employer – as requested by and agreed with you

- People aged 18 or over who are looking to find or sustain employment.
- People aged 16-25 who are looking for support with education.
- People living in Bristol, North Somerset or Gloucestershire.

You can ask the following people to support you with a referral to the IPS service:
- Your clinician,
- The job centre
- Your GP
- Or anyone else supporting you with your mental health challenges
Once a referral is accepted, an Employment Specialist will contact the client and arrange meetings on a regular basis to provide support with looking for employment, developing a detailed work preference profile to ensure the work is suited to the individual.
