We are deeply saddened to hear about the death of Professor Jason Arday, having seen from a distance the horrible way this story unfolded.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
Kindness and respect are two of our shared values at Waythrough. Both have been absent throughout the recent media coverage. We all share a belief that anyone should be able to ask for help, and that every person should have access to equal opportunities.
We know that events like this can have a traumatising impact on the people we serve and work with, as well as partners, and particularly those from black and minoritised communities. We all need to reflect.”
