Our Service
If you are a resident of one of the North East prisons and are ready to make changes to your drug or alcohol use, we provide you with an individual programme within the prison.
We’re here to help
Our experienced team offer advice and guidance to make the changes you want to make.
We can help with:
- Detox and prescribing
- One-to-one and group support
- Parenting and relationship skills
- Support for family and carers
- Dedicated release preparation and planning
We will prepare you for release, and support you to get back to your family and into your community.
We know that leaving prison can be a difficult time and we are here to support you. We help you connect with pharmacies, drug and alcohol treatment, job centres, and housing.

- HMYOI Deerbolt
- HMP Durham
- HMP Holme House
- HMP Kirklevington
- HMP Northumberland.
Led by Spectrum Community Health CIC, Reconnected to Health is delivered by Spectrum, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust, and Humankind to provide holistic, collaborative care to men and women in custody across the region.
We provide drug and alcohol recovery coordination, psychosocial interventions and continuity of care planning within the integrated prison healthcare system. We work with community services throughout the country and have excellent links with all North East community drug and alcohol services.

- People aged 18 and over
- People living in a secure setting within one of the North East Prisons
- People worried about their own drug and/or alcohol use
- People worried about someone else's drug and/or alcohol use
