Our Service
Northumberland Recovery Partnership (NRP) is a dedicated service for anyone in Northumberland aged 18 and over, who is registered with a GP and is experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol. We are here to help you get well and stay well. We believe recovery from substance use is possible for everyone, and we’re here to help you achieve it.
We’re here to help
Our aim is to make recovery a reality in Northumberland – whether you’re dealing with problematic drug or alcohol use or helping support others that are.
- Abstinence programmes – group and community-based 12 step programmes
- Harm reduction – safer injecting support and needle exchange
- Medical support including prescription of substitute medications and supporting detoxification programmes.
- A dedicated Recovery Co-ordinator to motivate and support you through every stage of your recovery journey.
- Recovery support – ongoing services to help with your next steps into employment, housing, and health.

Get support
There are two main ways to access the service. You can either contact us directly yourself, or you can ask your GP or another professional to make a referral for you. To do this you need to ring 01670 333 299 (Option 1)
We can also take referrals from carers of people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol with their consent. We have bases in Ashington, Blyth and Berwick.
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is the lead provider of this service in partnership with Waythrough.
