Lancaster Outreach Service
We provide outreach non-clinical crisis support targeted to residents of Lancaster/Morecambe Bay, providing a diversion for people experiencing mental health crisis and offering an alternative to hospital admission for those able to be supported in the community through therapeutic interventions.
We’re here to help
- To meet the needs of individuals experiencing acute emotional distress associated with a mental health problem (which may or may not have been given a formal diagnosis)
- To support individuals to reduce their immediate crisis and anxiety, and to formulate a safety plan
- To offer a series of follow up community based meetings to ensure individuals are not relapsing back to crisis
- To improve community resilience, increase confidence and with higher levels of social interaction and participation, reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.
- To link individuals with a range of multi-agency MDT providers, to ensure needs are responded to by appropriate services
- To improve a persons ability to cope with adversity, increase their sense of control and independence, and enable a person to receive a timely and appropriate intervention.
