Our Service
We provide intensive support to people aged 16 or over who are homeless and need to secure accommodation.
We’re here to help
We aim to prevent homelessness by supporting individuals who have responsibility for a tenancy but require support to maintain it.
Our friendly team can help you stay in your accommodation, avoid an eviction, or find somewhere new if you need it. We can make sure you’re getting all the benefits due and help you maximise income and manage debt.
We can help with:
- Understanding tenancy rights and responsibilities
- Developing independent living skills
- Accessing grants
- Liaising with landlords
- Welfare benefits
As well as:
- Accessing employment, training and education
- Debt reduction
- Access to health services
- Signposting to other services
- Completing Tenancy Ready Training
Who is this service for
- People aged 16 and over
- People who live in Darlington
- People with a mental health diagnosis
- People who need intensive housing-related support (5-10 hours per week)
- People who are responsible for their own home
- People trying to find somewhere to live
Get support
We have a drop-in facility at the office, open Monday to Friday, 9:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-3:30pm. You can also give us a call to chat about how we can support you.
You can also be referred by a mental health professional or by gateway assessment completed by the local authority Housing Options Team (in which case consent is gathered from you).
