Barnsley Children and Young People Drug and Alcohol Service
Friendly, free and confidential drug and alcohol support for young people under 18 and their families who live in Barnsley.
Our Service
We provide easy-to-access advice, information and support for anyone under 18 or family members supporting a young person who is experiencing challenges around drug or alcohol use in Barnsley. The service is free and confidential, and we work with a wide range of established partners to ensure that the full needs of every young person is met.
We’re here to help
How we work:
- Assessments take place at a time and in a setting that is most appropriate for each young person, which could be at home, school, via video etc.
- Virtual drop-in sessions take place during school and college lunchtimes
- Young people requiring structured treatment will receive high-quality, evidence-based, personalised support
- Individual care plans will be designed alongside the young person to meet their specific needs
- If a prescription is required, young people will have access to safe, effective and recovery-focused prescribing interventions
- Humankind services are underpinned by an inclusive ‘Think Family’ approach, ensuring that parents/carers are supported holistically to build individual and family resilience, engage with support and build upon existing strengths and provide a safe, positive family environment
We can provide training and information sessions around alcohol and other drugs. Please contact the team to discuss further.
