Lancaster Outreach Service

We provide non-clinical interventions throughout Lancaster and Morecambe Bay, enabling you to build up a toolkit of skills to manage your mental health in stress and crisis situations. Our interventions and coping strategies will focus on the mental health issues you feel are interfering most with your daily life and preventing you from moving forward.

We’re here to help

  • To meet the needs of individuals experiencing acute emotional distress associated with a mental health problem (which may or may not have been given a formal diagnosis)
  • To support individuals to reduce their immediate crisis and anxiety, and to formulate a safety plan
  • To offer a series of follow up community based meetings to ensure individuals are not relapsing back to crisis
  • To improve community resilience, increase confidence and with higher levels of social interaction and participation, reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.
  • To link individuals with a range of multi-agency MDT providers, to ensure needs are responded to by appropriate services 
  • To improve a persons ability to cope with adversity, increase their sense of control and independence, and enable a person to receive a timely and appropriate intervention.

Who is this service for

  • People aged 18 or over
  • People living in the Lancaster/Morecambe Bay area
  • People considered to be at risk of admission to hospital
